I thought that was going to be easy till I stepped my foot inside the office to see a room filled with angry and exhausted Youth Corp Members like me, waiting to be redeployed. I waited till the sweat on my body, especially my face started to form tiny images on the floor. I was finally attended to when it was almost closing hours. I was immediately posted to a secondary school (St.Finber) where I was duly accepted. The principal of the school was quite accommodating and told me they were in dire need of a Government teacher, that I would have to fill in. SS1 to SS3 classes were given to me to take, though I stared at the classes and they were quite large.I had heard rumors about the students in the school known for their notoriety in that Bariga axis, where the school is located.
My first day in one of the classes almost exhausted my life. The SS3 students made fun of me without remorse, they never deemed it fit to listen to what had to say to them. they were so fearless and stubborn, some of them even taunted me openely in my presesnce. But what can i do, about 90% of them were bigger than me in size so beating or punishing them wasn't even it. Most of them proved really stubborn and recalcitrant while a samll percentage of them were studios to the core. These set of students knew why they were in school and they didn't add to my list of little devils at St.Finber.
The only escape route I had from these students(the little devils) were just days I did my Community Development Service(CDS). A teacher in the school noticed my pain and anguish, she advised me not to let everything I was going through weigh me down. I heeded to her advise and continued working happily. I didn't give a damn about what the students did anymore. They started teasing and taunting me less when they saw I was undaunted by their incessant remarks
