Various exercises were done to ensure that we were kept fit. I remembered the day we all got into trouble on the parade ground, the soldiers ordered us to lie flat on the bare grass. This we did thinking we were relaxing, till they told us to remove our caps so we could enjoy the scorching sun. I started having second thoughts about these soldiers, they were nice to us some few minutes ago, now this!
Amidst all these soldier this- soldier that, I still had a wonderful time. Those nights when we used to make merry made my experience worth it. Our Camp fire night was a blast which I enjoyed so much.
My Platoon inspector gave me my letter of posting to an IT firm in Campbell street where I was outrightly rejected. This started another episode of disappointment in my soul. Taking the rejection letter back to the local government office in Isale Eko, I was redirected back to the NYSC Secretariat at Babs Animashaun street, where do I start from, what do I do, is this happening to everyone else or its just me. I kept thinking to myself all the way to the Secretariat.
